BFN Update

I never rush to write a post on a BFN so this is late, as expected. The first week of the TWW was relatively chill but the second week was tougher than anticipated. I didn’t want to symptom spot but it is so difficult! To make matters worse, I haven’t had a period in about two years so I don’t know my AF symptoms and I don’t know BFP symptoms. Needless to say, this led to increased anxiety. I just wanted to know! Haha. Even though, logically, I knew that it wouldn’t make a huge difference either way.

We decided to do the first test at 10DPO and then again at 12DPO. Both negative and AF showed up on 13DPO. I wish that was the end of this update but after seeing my negative test on 12DPO, my dentist informed me that I needed to get my wisdom teeth pulled and she strongly recommended doing it prior to getting pregnant. So, it looks like we may be taking a break in August to get those teeth pulled out. The timing for this month’s IUI was going to be difficult anyway because I am expected to ovulate just prior to a work trip to Las Vegas.

Stay tuned for more information on our next IUI. Hopefully, it will be here before we know it and the wisdom teeth debacle will be a cake walk. Doesn’t hurt to be optimistic, right?

  1. Hang in there! I have 2 boys by IUI. The second time around I ran into the clinic for routine ovary u/s on day 9 of cycle after working all night and was told I already ovulated (at work? Weird). They did a rush job IUI just in case, but the little swimmers’ motility was “low.” I didn’t have time to lie down for 15 minutes (busy working mom stuff) and just thought “well, that was a waste of money and a vial!” Home test 10 days later confirmed what I suspected (negative). Same again day 12. Into the office for a quick blood test on day 14 and off to work I went. Imagine my surprise when the clinic called to congratulate us! So hang in there, sometimes things work out even when chances are slim!
