This past Friday, after Em got her steroid shot for her SI joint, I (Lyn) had an appointment with a new Ob/Gyn. Prior to starting this journey, all of my female medical care had been performed by a nurse midwife, who is very nice. However, due to high likelihood that I will need to have a hysteroscopy performed in the near future, our RE explained it would be necessary to be under the care of an MD to perform this procedure. Now that we’ve gotten that taken care of… This week, we had our initial consultation with the reproductive endocrinology clinic. Going into the appointment, we weren’t quite sure what to expect. Although we knew the clinic was LGBT friendly, living in the South, it is always something in the back of our minds.
As soon as we walked in, the receptionist greeted us with a smile and told us that she had already consumed her 10:00am snack–it was 7:42am. I don’t think she ever said hello instead she spilled her secret. Either way, it definitely eased any nerves that we had.Read More »
